Death as ordinary horizon
The work repeatedly treats death as an administrative fact rather than a climactic revelation. People die before money arrives, before recognition arrives, before a project is finished, or simply offscreen while records continue to circulate. That flatness is important: mortality is not reserved for tragedy. It lives beside jokes, ads, music links, legal language and ordinary errands.
Posthumousness before death
A second current is stranger: people and works are often imagined from the position of their later residue while they are still present. Future criticism, obituaries, archival fragments, memorial objects and false recollections appear before the person or project has disappeared. This makes posthumousness a present-tense condition of being mediated.
What survives
The recurring question is not simply whether a person is remembered. It is what kind of trace survives: a name, a drink, a recording, a distorted anecdote, a piece of merchandise, a forum argument, a line reused in another song. The archive can preserve and falsify at the same time.
