1913 is a rabbit hole, not an answer key
a new test entropy contains one of the densest historical objects in the corpus: a rapid-fire dialogue made mostly of years, institutions and half-arguments. It links “1910” to Jekyll Island; “1947” to CIA; “1952” to NSA; “1996” to the Telecom Act; “2001” to the Patriot Act; “1944” to “Bretton”; and “1971” to its ending. It also mixes in disputed, conspiratorial, compressed and deliberately underexplained claims — Rothschilds, a Grand Lodge, corporate personhood, “1913 made 1914,” “always fund both sides,” and years whose referents are never stabilized.
The correct reading apparatus is therefore coordinate check, not decoder key. Several coordinates are historically ordinary: a secret central-banking meeting did occur at Jekyll Island in November 1910 and fed into the eventual Federal Reserve design; CIA was established in 1947; NSA in 1952; the Telecommunications Act was approved in 1996; the USA PATRIOT Act in 2001; and suspension of dollar-gold convertibility in 1971 broke a foundation of the Bretton Woods system. But that does not authorize the wiki to make every adjacent year into a hidden true-history claim. The unstable chain is part of the object. It reads like associative historical consciousness under pressure: textbook history, anti-state folklore, conspiracy grammar, remembered dates and numerological attraction all thrown into one smoking-room conversation.
History as a catalogue of coercion
Actual Attack Documentation compresses twentieth-century coercion into one ugly progression: Stasi/Zersetzung, Jim Jones, Manson, Mao, CIA and Aum are treated as different historical vocabularies for destabilization, cultic control and social pressure. The point is not historical equivalence. The form makes them available techniques in the same poisoned filing cabinet.
YOU ARE NOT ON THE LIST pulls Stasi and telecommunications/platform history into a different argument: contemporary media systems are read through older surveillance, monopoly and broadcasting forms. Again, analogy is not identity; the comparison itself is the corpus fact.
When optimization becomes history
FAUNA & FAUSTIANA is a particularly dense historical collision. Taylor/Ford efficiency language, McNamara, the Pioneer Fund, the German-American Bund and the psychological/administrative problem of Einsatzkommando killing squads occupy the same piece. The work’s recurring suspicion of measurement and optimization is not left abstract: it is stress-tested against histories where classification, efficiency and administration acquire bodies.
This is also why “history” in the corpus frequently feels more like institutional residue than costume drama. Laws, agencies, managerial doctrines, technologies and media reforms matter because their forms are still operating.
Historical fact, folk memory and synthetic historiography
Pimp Teeth / “PINK DIAMONDS” is a useful control specimen. A drunken argument about George Washington’s teeth spins through “wood,” human teeth and enslaved people, then recruits a synthetic assistant-like report. External archival work makes the situation more precise: Washington’s dentures were not wooden; surviving dentures used mixed materials including human teeth; Mount Vernon records a 1784 payment to enslaved people for nine teeth on account of dentist Jean-Pierre Le Mayeur; and there is no evidence establishing that those specific teeth ended up in Washington’s surviving dentures. The artistic object is therefore not a clean history lesson. It is a scene about folk knowledge colliding with correction, correction colliding with uncertainty, and a machine voice being asked to arbitrate historical disgust.
The King Baggot cycle goes further: a real silent-era actor’s lost familiarity becomes an ontological problem. “Baggot Brain” is now author-confirmed as the destabilizing paranoia that a cultural reference might have been retroactively implanted. Historical forgetting becomes horror.
