Inside the work

The 2023 Substack work titled EGOTERRORISM is an important precursor to the later 52-track album/book object. It is already organized as numbered fragments, publication commentary, visual jokes, erotic sketches, fake criticism, cultural comparison and instructions about how the reader should encounter the page. The later record does not arrive from nowhere; it expands a container that was already behaving like a mixed-media compilation.

Several later signatures are present in concentrated form: m.v.d., Lost Eros, consumer-audio language, komorebi, jokes about cults, publication as bodily or erotic exchange, and a “2023 wrapped” sequence of names that turns comparison itself into a list-form artifact. The text also literally complains that it is too long for email and instructs the reader to click through for the “Real Experience,” making delivery-system failure part of the work.

The numbered sections range from birthday recursion and street encounter to Café Goblin publication history, pornographic sketch, film still, reader growth and line anxiety. Their lack of a single genre is the point: EGOTERRORISM is already a box into which otherwise incompatible JQD registers can be placed without being reconciled.
