Fictional characters
The corpus contains far more named figures than the older category page implied. The dedicated Characters and named figures index now follows major protagonists, minor social figures, synthetic persons, wrestlers, investigators, children, animals and other named actors across the fiction.
Performed personae and masks
- Cagliostro — recurring JQD / Scaled Alps performed name.
- Proteus III — Scaled Alps 2.x persona/collaborator figure.
- REPTILE — an identity/institutional wrapper surrounding the 2.x mythology.
- Li’l Slurz — fictional media persona whose fabricated biography is part of the joke and the mechanism.
Real collaborators and project figures
- James Quentin Devine / JQD
- Scaled Alps
- MZM / Mike Z. Morrell
- Anthony Percoco
- Joan Darwin / Sean McCarthy
- Matinee Idol
- Talkie Night
Why the categories overlap
JQD’s work repeatedly makes the border between person, stage name, band, company, interface and institution porous. That is not merely a cataloguing inconvenience; it is one of the corpus’s formal subjects. See Self as Infrastructure and Naming as Instantiation.
The Baggot cluster
- King Baggot — real silent-film figure used as a recurring historical irritant.
- Pseudobaggot — Gerald/Jerry's assumed Baggot identity.
- Tom Magee — real wrestler whose obscurity opens the memory problem.
- Mumfry the Mummy Butler and Leopold zu Vingt — source-native figures whose expanding histories destabilize the archive.
