Names
A 2022 New Year publication gives a deliberately proliferating alias chain: Mike Z. Morrell, MZM, El Aleph, Surfgrind Radio, Em-ze-eM, Orbit Angel and “B.A.D.D. MOTHER FUCKER.” The aliases matter because the wider corpus routinely allows one collaborator or authorial role to occupy several names at once.
world_puzzle
The 2022 dual-release note credits MZM on both “When It’s Time to Go” and “world_puzzle.” For “world_puzzle,” MZM supplied prepared sounds around which JQD used physical movement to help determine chords and structure.
EGOTERRORISM
The liner book credits MZM with production/programming on track 50, “World Puzzle,” and calls MZM “indispensable” in the acknowledgments. This converts what could look like a one-off early collaboration into a visible through-line across years.
Scaled Alps
Earlier Scaled Alps writing also places Mike Z. Morrell inside the project’s audio incarnation, further weakening any strict border between the JQD solo and Scaled Alps containers.
