Clothing as active language

Dress is rarely neutral description. Suits, hats, jackets, masks, branded objects and deliberately strange styling can establish status, persona, affiliation and social risk before a character speaks.

Luxury and public use

The corpus is suspicious of prestige detached from function but not of beauty, quality or luxury themselves. Public Luxury turns that contradiction into a positive proposition: intense attention and high-quality experience need not be hoarded as private status.

Objects carry institutions

A hat, logo, mask or record can move a fictional or artistic institution into ordinary social space. Once another person recognizes the mark, the object becomes an interface between parallel realities: personal style, commerce, narrative and community.
