The joke does not cancel the instruction
The wiki has become good at detecting irony, imposture, kayfabe, hostile encoding and unstable sincerity. It can therefore miss a simpler fact: many exhortations to stop passively consuming and make something yourself mean exactly what they say.
The Kids Get It states, “The goal of my making is exactly this induction.” A Song is Instructions for Itself describes songs as things meant to be passed along. Elsewhere the corpus repeatedly gives away editorial authority, tells the recipient they do not need JQD, or converts reading into an instruction to act.
Induction rather than discipleship
The strongest form of successful transmission is therefore often not agreement, fandom or correct exegesis. It is another act of making. A recipient can misunderstand half the source, carry one usable fragment elsewhere and still satisfy the deeper demand if something consequential gets made.
Hypersincerity inside abrasive form
This does not mean every command is sincere or every voice is trustworthy. It means comedy, profanity, fake advertising and hostile surfaces are not sufficient evidence that a direct creative entreaty is a joke. In this domain, the abrasive wrapper may protect or energize an unusually earnest proposition.
