Medium is often a stage in a lineage

A phrase can begin as prose, become lyric, become marquee text, become shirt copy and later return as a fictional institution. A bodily gesture can become musical structure. A perfume can be a literal scent, a memory trigger, a fictional product, a lyric image and a visual design system. A place can be documentary geography in one work and distorted civic mythology in another.

Major migration routes

Writing ↔ music

Lyrics: Mobile Language System and the intertextual atlas document exact and uncertain migrations.

Music ↔ image

Visual Discography, Color & Light, liner books, covers, players and track-specific visual systems.

Sound ↔ body / movement

Speculative Music, world_puzzle, Prepared Piano, dance, gesture and proprioception.

Image ↔ text

Marquees, signs, graphic writing, typographic fields and synthetic documentation make reading a visual event.

Clothing ↔ institution

Garment as Medium: merchandise, styling and worn marks can act as canonical publishing surfaces.

Scent ↔ language / memory

Perfume, jasmine, smoke, sweat and olfactory memory form a neglected sensory archive. See Cross-Modal Thinking.

Interface ↔ artwork

LP/DS, album players, websites and executable instructions make navigation part of the work.

Observation ↔ civic theory

Street Violence, Civility & Civic Failure follows how immediate public disorder can become later institutional argument without collapsing every scene into autobiography.

Practical value of the atlas

The corpus is large enough that continuity cannot depend on remembering every appearance. This atlas is therefore designed to recover latent adjacency: the reader can arrive through a record, garment, neighborhood, smell, line of prose or fictional character and discover what else that object has touched.
