From crime to obligation

The Thief’s twenty dollars cannot buy forgiveness but can buy lottery tickets. Once the Powerball ticket is torn in half, the relationship acquires a legal/material residue that neither man intended.

The search

The second half of the story turns the Thief’s effort to locate “Bogdan” into a naming problem. He is looking for a man through a name that never belonged to him—until the man decides to accept it.
