Ordinary territory
Unlike Lost Eros, Licking County is not developed through an explicit speculative civic system. Its force comes from specificity: high-school residue, community college, strip retail, an Indian Mound Mall plan, pharmacy wrestling magazines and the protagonist’s insistence on narrating the local landscape as if it were a wrestling territory.
