Number Nine
DOOM DATA is the collaboration of JQD as songwriter/vocalist and Melbourne/Naarm producer Ourobonic Plague. The official Bandcamp release NUMBER NINE appeared on 8 January 2023 and described the project as a “planet-spanning, genre-crushing mind-meld,” slow, strange and heavy, with lyrical free association.
Corpus life
The project enters the JQD writing directly in DOOM DΛTΛ NUMBER NINE + The Hole World. A later public-relations section in A FRAMED SCREAM again names JQD and Ourobonic Plague as the DOOM DATA duo, placing Los Angeles and Melbourne in the same release apparatus.
Why it matters here
DOOM DATA is a compact example of JQD’s tendency to let a one-off music collaboration immediately acquire typography, lore, geographic scale and textual afterlife. The project is small in discographic quantity but large in the amount of surrounding world it generates.

Vocal language
Doom Data places JQD’s free-associative vocal writing inside a heavy collaborative setting rather than a Scaled Alps live-band one. It is therefore useful evidence that the flow / associative language engine is portable across musical chassis.
