Let the Alpine Play began its life as a series of demos called 'The Desertion Sessions,' written and recorded in and around The Altar Studios in N. Hollywood, CA.
The self-recorded demos were written in two frenetic sessions spanning day and night, yielding over 30 tracks.
Fifteen of these tracks were then re-recorded in the Big Room with engineer Stewart Tuttle at the helm, with Joan Darwin coming in to provide drums and Steve Fishman on electric, upright, and synth basses.
"The record is filled with night-time walk LA psychogeography, lust and violence, hijacked nervous systems."
"Celestial, infernal crime spree music."
"Achieves melancholy victory."
"Stripper anthems for mutant dancers."
